What is
hypnotherapy?
As a word this really needs to be separated into two.
Hypno
--- relating to Hypnosis. Therapy --- relating to the therapy that is
applied.
Hypnosis is just the tool that through deep relaxation, bypasses
the conscious mind, allowing the subconscious to be accessible.
Hypnotherapy deals with emotional and psychological problems,
habits and phobias. Often we cannot see emotional and psychological
traumas and therefore the support and sympathy given whilst
suffering these is limited.
Society sees a fractured leg, or terminal illness, but it cannot
see the INVISIBLE non physical conditions. The need for HELP,
SUPPORT, and UNDERSTANDING COMPASSION, is just as high in the
anxieties and depressions, people can feel so alone!
At Portsmouth and Waterlooville Hypnotherapy Clinic,
it is understood that this state of imbalance is very real.
Hypnotherapy and Hypnoanalysis is fantastic for this and helps
a return to good quality of life. Several types of therapy are
used :- 2 in the main.
Suggestion Therapy
With the power of positive suggestion, simpler problems can
be treated, such as smoking, nailbiting, driving test nerves,
confidence esteem building, weight loss, Public Speaking, relaxation.
This usually requires 1 or 2, maybe 3 sessions.
Your FREE initial consultation determines which, so I can be
sure of the best treatment for you.
Analytical Therapy (Hypnoanalysis)
This is a process used to uncover the causes of deeper rooted
emotional and psychological problems. It is the doctrine of
CAUSE and EFFECT, meaning every symptom for example, blushing,
must have a deeper seated cause. Hypnoanalysis reveals and removes
the unconscious cause, and along with it the troublesome symptoms.
It seeks to remove the symptoms not to control them.
A release can usually be achieved within 6 - 10 sessions.
If you can devote time, effort and self discipline, I can work
with you to permanently remove the originating cause.
Sessions are at weekly intervals of 50 - 60 minutes duration.
